Great Escape

This little beach house is nearly perfect for us! This is our second stay in the Great Escape. We’ve been coming to the Cape almost every summer for 22 years. We are senior citizens so having everything on one floor definitely helps. Also the boardwalk makes the short walk to the sand much easier. The kitchen is well equipped, as is every other room. The AC was set at a perfect temp when we arrived and even with the door being opened and closed frequently it never seemed to waiver from perfect comfort. And the temp outside was ‘feels like’ 105°!! Every evening on the deck was paradise! My husband even had me up dancing a slow dance with him!
Oh! And I almost forgot to mention Hurricane Debby!! Teresa and Terri kept us well informed as did the Gulf County Sheriff’s Dept. After all that she passed us by completely! All we got was a very strong sea breeze that was very welcome with the temps being what they were. We will definitely be back!

Our week at Great Escape was fabulous! We enjoy the comfort of the house, the large screened porch, and deck to view the unforgettable sunsets. Steps from the beach down a private ramp – more could you want?

Terri and Teresa are excellent at helping there clients and are the nicest people you will ever deal with. I always stay with Teresa’s Beach Homes and it doesn’t matter which home you rent because they are all super nice. Give them a call you won’t be sorry.

The Great Escape is one of our favorite places to stay. The sunsets we’ve seen from this house are absolutely breathtaking!

Teresa’s beach homes is the best company we have ever rented from. Absolutely the best customer service. The only down side to the house is the living room furniture isn’t very comfortable. Could really use an upgrade especially for the price of the weekly rental. Other than that it’s perfect.

We had a great time on our trip. The house was perfect for the 4 of us. A very short walk to the beach. Also, close to a grocery store and a place to buy fresh fish, which was a bonus. We would visit again!

We have stayed many of different houses throughout the years and this one has been the best one ever. This is our annual beach trip every year and we bring our dog with us since she loves the beach. It was a spectacular stay. The views were amazing. House was more than you could ever ask for in renting.

First of all, this is the perfect cottage on the beach – big enough for two couples to have plenty of space. Each bedroom has its own bath. The kitchen is clean and well stocked. The screened-in porches are the icing on the cake. The parking space is good for 2 large vehicles. We have been coming to the Cape for about 20 years, and this is one of the best places that we have stayed in. We cook a lot, so when we found the oven was not heating properly, we put in a call to Terri, and she immediately responded. By the next day we had biscuits for breakfast! From the initial contact, we got the overwhelming feeling that we would be taken care of. We were a little concerned about the aftermath of Hurricane Michael after we heard about and saw some of the devastation – and while there are several places still patching up, for the most part all of the debris has been picked up. The beach area is fine. They were working on the roads, but it looked like all of that will be done soon. We shopped at Piggly Wiggly in town, but honestly could find most everything we needed at the Trading Post very close to the Great Escape. We love to go into Port St. Joe for shopping and good seafood and Mexican food and to Apalachicola for some shopping and good food at The Grill and The Owl. We will be back to the Great Escape.

This was our 3rd stay in the Great Escape. The views were amazing as usual. Ate breakfast outside every morning. We love this place and hope to be back next year. The 4 legged babies love it as well. Work continues in the area but it is a small inconvenience compared to the beauty of the cape. Can’t wait till next year!!!!

This was our second year staying in this home, can’t wait to get back to Great Escape next Year!! Perfectly located, fully equipped kitchen. We love the deck, screened in porch. It truly feels like our home away from home. We missed it as soon as we pulled onto the road to drive home.

If you want to truly unhook from the busy world for a while, this is the place for you.. The house is lovely with beautiful view of the beach. It is quiet, with only the sound of the gulf. We will certainly come back here again!

Great Escape was absolutely lovely. Cozy, clean and spectacular views. This was our first year coming to the Cape during Thanksgiving (we have been coming in the summer for over 30 years) and I think I actually prefer it in November! Cool mornings and warm afternoons. We love that we can bring our dogs, because they are family too! Be sure to bring dog beds if you have a fur baby with you so they will have a comfy spot. Teresa’s Beach Homes is a wonderful company to do business with. They are warm, friendly and prompt to respond to any questions you may have. I highly recommend them.

Teresa’s is the perfect rental company to work with, and Great Escape is a fantastic home for a small family with pets. The deck and screen room made rinsing and drying big dogs a breeze, the walk-over from the house to the beach made for easy access, and the house itself was comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, the hard flooring throughout works well with big dogs, and the house is perfectly located for outdoor fun. We hope to return next summer!

This is our 2nd stay in this home, and we have already booked for summer 2022. We come with our grown daughter and our large breed dogs. The Wi-Fi is sound which is important since our daughter must be in touch with work and is also working on her graduate degree while we vacation. The porch is amazing as she can sit there to do her work with a fantastic view of the ocean. Having the screened area and the deck gives us a fantastic place to let dogs dry and cool off after they romp on the beach. While humans are taking a break from the sand, you can still enjoy the sounds and sights of the ocean. It you like to run, head up the road to the path and take a right. If you run 3-4 miles round trip, half of your view is the bay. Just beautiful early in the morning. There kitchen has everything you need to cook at home, and the large table is great for family meals or for working on a puzzle after dinner. There are plenty of linens and the house has been clean both times we’ve rented – once during the height of COVID-19 Pandemic. Oh, if you have forgotten something, you can just walk to the Tradin’ Post. If you are looking for a small house on the beach that is also affordable, this is the house! Did I mention the only carpet is a living room and a kitchen rug? This makes it so much easier for you to bring your furry family members, too!

We always have a good time at the great escape. It’s perfect for a peaceful getaway. The house is located right on the beach. Sunsets are beautiful. We will be going back!

This was by far one of the nicest homes we’ve enjoyed on the cape. The porches are wonderful, and Teresa and her family provide great service. We went ahead and booked it again for next summer within a month of leaving!
